Paid Positions
 

Cultural Diversity Library Assistant. The Cultural Diversity Library Assistant works with Eastern Monroe, Clymer and Pocono Mountain Public Libraries to provide library services, including programming and collection development, for the culturally diverse populations in Monroe County. The position can be full time with benefits if the candidate is also able to assume responsibilities for service at the Monroe County Correctional Facility. Two part time positions will be considered if one candidate cannot meet all requirements. The minimum of PA Library Assistant Certification is required for both aspects of the position, cultural diversity and corrections.

Minimum requirements: Library Assistant Certification (minimum of 60 post high school credit hours including 9 in library science); second language; personal transportation. Salary: Hourly range, Library Assistant I, $11.29 to $17.18.

Volunteer Positions
 

Shelvers -- Detail-oriented book lovers needed to shelve library books at the Hughes Library and its branches.  Good alphabetizing skills essential.  Familiarity with Dewey Decimal is helpful, but we will train. To apply, call the Circulation Manager at 570-421-0800 ext. 23.

Outreach services -- We seek dedicated, well-organized "people person" to help us extend library service to special-needs groups such as the homebound, assisted living residents and daycare centers.  Previous experience in a social services setting helpful.
