Youth Services Program Policies

Admission to children’s programs will be on a first come, first serve basis, unless otherwise stated in the promotional materials. The number of attendees will be allowed up to, but not exceeding, the safe recommended room capacity. The recommended safe capacity is 150 for the Edinger Community Room, and 25 for the Children’s Activity Room. These guidelines have been developed for the safety and well being of our library patrons, and will be enforced.

Children’s programming is intended to provide interesting and educational library-related experiences for families of the Eastern Monroe Public Library service area. Due to room capacity and staffing limitations, the library is unable to incorporate attendance by school groups, preschools, day cares and other formal organizations. Scheduled tours and visits, combined with storytimes, are always available to groups upon request. Arrangements for outreach to their locations is also possible. All such arrangements must be made through Youth Services, and are dependent on scheduling and staffing availability.

Approved by EMPL Board of Directors Policy Committee 22 June 2006 pending approval at the next regular EMPL Board meeting 18 July 2006, 8:30 am at the Pocono Township Library, Tannersville, PA
